Senator Solomon Ewuga, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, has refused the appointment given to him by Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to lead the 2018 intending pilgrims team to Jerusalem.
His refusal came following the speculation peddle round in the state that he ( Solomon Ewuga ), has dump PDP to join the ruling party the All Progressive Congress APC in the state.
Governor Al-Makura appointed Senator Solomon to lead 170 intending pilgrims but there were speculations and rumours of defection surrounding the appointment by the PDP supporters in Nasarawa State.
Meanwhile, Governor Tanko Al-Makura has on Friday during the farewell ceremony appoint pharmacy Luka Baba Payam, the Osu Karu to lead the team.
Speaking during the farewell ceremony in Lafia, governor Al-Makura, said pilgrimage is religion exercise that every worshipper should perform hence the need for government to provide enabling ground for everybody to exercise his right.

The governor who was represented by his deputy Silas Ali Agara warned the intending pilgrims from absconding while in the holy land.
He, however, charge intending pilgrims to be a good ambassador of the state and country at large.
