Osita F Ugeh, the owner of Duke Concept LLC, the outfit that organised the Apollo concert that headlined Nigeria’s rave of the moment, Burna Boy, said the sold-out show was dream a come true for him.
Talking about his starting point in Nigeria, Osita, who is also known as Duke, said he used to organise shows from city to city in Nigeria, but didn’t have a big break until he travelled to the United States in 2011, where his career in showbiz actually kicked off.

Duke, whose company is reputably the most prominent Nigerian/African entertainment setup in America, was responsible for the historic sold-out Burna Boy “African Giant” Tour concert stopover at the iconic Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York on April 5.
Reminiscing about career and his latest success, he wrote on one of his social media accounts: “It started during my college days in Nigeria, I was organising college parties, theatre plays and all. I was the Choir Master of the school Choir at some point.
“So, it has always been my thing to organise and get people together. In being creative, I find my passion.
“But coming to the US, my first event was in May of 2013. The guest artiste on the bill was D’Prince of Mavin records.
“He was one of the hottest musicians in Nigeria at that time and so it was really a big deal putting up that event. I just concluded the Burna Boy show recently. In the past, I have also worked with the likes of Davido, Olamide, Iyanya, Kizz Daniel, Runtown and many more.”
