A 20-year-old security guard, Sulaimon Arisu, on Monday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly breaking into a woman’s apartment and stealing home appliances worth N3 million.
Arisu, a resident of Mafoluku Oshodi area of Lagos, is charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Victor Eruada told the court that Arisu committed the offences on Aug. 3, 2019, at Raji Abayomi St., Mafoluku Oshodi, Lagos.

He alleged that Arisu conspired with some persons at large to steal home appliances valued at N3 million, belonging to Mrs Evelyn Naichi.
“Arisu and his accomplices used a sharp object to gain entrance into the apartment while the complainant had travelled.
“He said that during the investigation, the Police found that Arisu and his cohorts allegedly conspired to steal the home appliances,’’ Eruada said.
According to him, the offences contravene Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 287 provides a three-year jail term for stealing, while Section 411 provides two years imprisonment for conspiracy.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Dan-Oni adjourned the case until Dec. 11, 2019, for further hearing.
