Scratch marks on my penis

erectionMy wife recently noticed some scratch marks on the shaft of my penis and thought I must have got it from some extra-marital dalliance which is not true as I don’t have sex outside my marriage. Also, I don’t have any discharge or pains during urination. I recently read somewhere that a woman’s pubic hair, if caught in the vagina, could bruise a man’s penis and cause this kind of issue. I want your opinion on this.

Men who develop penis cuts or scratches on their penis are understandably concerned about their cause, especially when they seem to appear out of nowhere, or overnight. While it may often make sense to assume the worst about a recent partner, in most cases, these tears and fissures have a fairly innocent cause. Such scratch marks can occur in the hours after sexual intercourse or masturbation, even when no rough play or aggressive handling took place. In most cases, the explanation for these symptoms is simply a Candida yeast overgrowth. Yeast infection is common in men, as well as women, and the tears may be one of the first symptoms to appear. Pubic hair can also play some role in the scratches especially if your partner is very hairy. However, to rule out any other potential causes such as Sexually Transmitted Diseases, you need to see your doctor for a complete medical examination and tests.
