RTEAN hails PEPT judgment affirming Tinubu’s election

The newly inaugurated national executive of the Road Transport Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has commended the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), which affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, which was jointly signed by the National President, Comrade Eriyo Osakpamwan, and National Secretary, Alhaji Abdulrahman Amusan, the association maintained that the Tribunal’s affirmation of Tinubu as the duly elected president of Nigeria was a re-validation of the love Nigerians have for him and reaffirmation of the popular mandate they bestowed on him on February 25th, 2023.

RTEAN urged the president to build a viable road transportation network around the country to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.

The statement added, “On behalf of the National Executives Council, we Congratulate President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his well-deserved election tribunal victory.

“As partners, we will join Mr President to build a viable road transport across the 36 States and Abuja, and we know how Nigerians accepted your Renewed Hope Agenda. We know you will not fail Nigerians!

“Now that the Court has spoken overwhelmingly, the petitioners should join Mr. President to alleviate the Poverty and Renew the Hopes of millions of Nigerians, which will help to reduce the current crisis in road transportation across the Country.

“The victory is deserving and proper. It reaffirms and re-validates Nigerians’ love for our President, which they demonstrated on February 25th with the overwhelming and popular mandate they bestowed on him.”

The RTEAN leadership urged the defeated petitioners to place love for the country above sentiments and partisan strivings, accept the tribunal’s verdict with utmost equanimity, and support the President in his efforts to build a better Country.

“We want to use this medium to appeal to my brothers who lost at the polls and also at the tribunal to place love for the country above politics and sentiments and join hands with the President to build a greater Country.

“We have no other Country except Nigeria, and we all, irrespective of party affiliation, religion, or tribe, owe it as a duty to make our Country work,” RTEAN added.
