The Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives, on Wednesday, expressed rude shock over the sudden death of the member from Garki/ Babura Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, Rep Adamu Muhammadu Gawo, who died on the eve of the new year.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the Minority Leader of the House, Rep Godwin Ndudi Elumelu, the Caucus said that it was “saddened by the news of the demise of Hon Gawo who until his death was committed to the unity of Nigeria.”

While extolling the virtues of the deceased and his immense contributions in the activities of the 9th House within the shortest period of its inauguration, the Minority said, “I believe that the entire country will miss his vibrant contribution to effective representation on the floor since of inauguration in July last year.
“For Hon Gawo, there was never a dull moment for him, very vibrant and focused lawmaker whose activities and aspirations centred on the unity and the progress of the country, either in the Chamber or at the Committee levels.
“On behalf of the minority caucus, I pray God to grant his family, Constituents, State and the National Assembly the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May His soul rest in peace.”
Rep Gawo was reportedly death in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday.
