The member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), in partnership with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has distributed food palliatives to vulnerable residents across the 12 wards of the constituency.

The intervention, held at the Ibadan North Local Government Secretariat, was aimed at cushioning the effect of economic hardship on residents and supporting vulnerable households within the constituency.

The exercise brought together beneficiaries, community groups, party leaders, stakeholders and representatives of various groups across Ibadan North.

Speaking during the distribution, Oyekunle said the intervention was designed to ensure that residents in need benefited from the Federal Government’s efforts to reduce the burden of the prevailing economic challenges.

He said, “This intervention is about our people. We want to ensure that vulnerable residents across the 12 wards of Ibadan North Federal Constituency are not left out of the Federal Government’s food palliative programme.”

The lawmaker expressed appreciation to NEMA for facilitating the intervention, describing the agency’s support as important to reaching residents who required assistance.

He said, “I sincerely appreciate NEMA for making this possible. Their support has enabled us to bring this intervention directly to the people who need it most.”

Oyekunle also thanked residents of Ibadan North for their continued support and goodwill, noting that the distribution coincided with the month in which he was overwhelmingly elected to represent the constituency.

He urged the constituents to sustain their support and partnership while soliciting their continued backing for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The federal lawmaker also expressed appreciation to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for what he described as his consistent support and leadership.

He said, “I appreciate our governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his consistent support and leadership. I will continue to operate within the framework of his developmental legacies and people-oriented leadership.”

The food items were distributed across the 12 wards of the constituency, with beneficiaries drawn from vulnerable residents, community groups, non-political organisations and other groups identified within the constituency.

Those who attended the exercise included the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor, Hon. Kazeem Adeyinka Adeniyi Bibire; member representing Ibadan North State Constituency II, Hon. Babajide Gabriel; member representing Ibadan North State Constituency I, Hon. Olufunke Comforter; and the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, who was represented by his Chief of Staff.

Also in attendance were party leaders, political stakeholders, community representatives, party faithful and other beneficiaries.
