A member of the House of Representatives, representing Irepo/Oorelope/Oloru-nsogo federal constituency, Hon. Olumide Ojerinde has facilitated empowerment items for artisan groups and soft loans of N10,000 for 250 women in his area.
Speaking during the distribution of the empowerment items in Kishi recently, the Rep member said that the intervention was made through the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) respectively.
“There is an urgent need for our people to have skills so as to address the nagging issues of unemployment and poverty which can never be tackled successfully without sustainable availability of a skilled workforce. It is in lieu of this that I believe it is necessary to train and empower our women and youth with relevant starter packs.

“I hope young men and women in Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency will develop the spirit and attributes of entrepreneurship and use it to better their lives, in the life of their families and the nation at large”, he said
The rep also promised more palliative measures for the people of the area irrespective of their party and religious affiliation to cushion the effects of the lockdown occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic.
He urged Nigerians to obey directives issued by Federal and State Governments and adhere strictly to social distancing measures and improved personal hygiene as the world strive to stop coronavirus (COVID-19).
The rep particularly enjoined the people of his constituency to adhere to every instruction and protocol laid down by World Health Organisation, Federal Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in curtailing coronavirus pandemic.
“Governments around the world are working round the clock to tame the spread of the deadly global pandemic. It is important for Nigerians, particularly people of my constituency to comply 100% with government directives and medical advice against this virus,” Hon. Ojerinde appealed.
The rep further implored the people where there is restriction order to obey the measures being put in place, noting that the measures are not going to be easy but the government are working on modalities on how to ease their pains while calling on others to observe the social distancing measure and the regular washing of hands with soap and clean running water or the use of hand sanitizer.
