Mavin Record’s latest signee, Abimbola Oladokun a.k.a Bayanni, has spurred a number of reactions online following the artiste’s unveiling by Mavin Records earlier this week.
The artiste, who was formerly known by the name Zhenoboy, began trending on social media in 2021 after recording and releasing covers of songs like Davido’s Jowo and Fireboy DML’s Peru.
Until his unveiling by Mavin Records in the early hours of Tuesday, he was rumoured to have been signed into Davido’s DMW following a meeting between the duo in April this year.
While many fans and followers of the newly signed artiste have taken to their social media accounts to congratulate him, some others are expressing concern over his name change from Zhenoboy to Bayanni.
Although the young artiste is yet to offer an explanation to his fans about the name change, it appears the new name has come to stay as his social media handles now carry the ‘Bayanni’ tag, including a verified Twitter account (@itsbayanni).
