Progress being made in ending LAUTECH crisis ―Aregbesola

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state, on Wednesday, expressed confidence that the crisis bedevilling Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, was almost resolved.

Aregbesola, who spoke when the Professor Oladapo Afolabi governing council of LAUTECH visited him in his office, hinged this optimism on the cooperation and commitment of parties to providing a lasting solution to the protracted crisis.

Aregbesola who received the 38-day status report on the institution, as presented by the governing council, remarked that the report showed that great progress was being made.

“Today, I had a very productive meeting with the governing council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso.

Undoubtedly, progress has been made in our pursuit of a lasting solution and we owe it to our children to sustain this momentum. After the headway made in today’s extensive deliberations, all parties involved are now confident of a speedy resolution to this crisis,” Aregbesola said on his twitter handle.

It would be recalled that Governor Abiola Ajimobi had recently disclosed that the crisis in the university would soon be over and the institution would be given a take-off grant for three months.

Other members of the governing council who accompanied Professor Oladapo Afolabi to present the report included, Mr Bade Adesina, Professor (Mrs) Laide Adedokun, Professor Lai Olorode, and LAUTECH Vice Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Gbadegesin.
