The New Associates, a grassroots support group for President Bola Tinubu in Bayelsa, has denied reports that one of its ward coordinators was involved in a clash with Hon. Gabriel Ogbara, the Chief Whip of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
In a statement, the group’s lead convener, George Turnah, and co-convener and secretary, Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe, clarified that the person involved in the altercation was Pastor Williams Olalaoni, not Pastor Kelvin Loveday-Egbo, the Ward 8 coordinator of The New Associates.
Both individuals are from Elebele community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa.
The group condemned Hon. Ogbara’s behavior, describing it as disgraceful, and emphasised that their officials possess integrity, strong character, and high morals, making it unlikely for them to engage in such behaviour.
The statement was made to address concerns generated by a trending video of the incident.
The New Associates distanced themselves from the altercation, emphasizing their members’ commitment to positive conduct.
They highlighted the importance of clarifying the mix-up to maintain their reputation and that of their officials.
