Pray for peace, unity in Nigeria, Fayemi urges Muslims

MINISTER of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Thursdayurged Nigerians, especially Muslims to continue to pray and work for peace and unity in the country. 

He further advised the Muslim faithful and adherents of other faiths to always demonstrate love and understanding towards one another in the quest for a greater and more prosperous Nigeria.

Dr Fayemi, in a goodwill message signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode, a copy of which was made available to the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja, said the Eid el-Kabir festival also offered another opportunity for sober reflection, soul searching and spiritual renewal which Allah demands from the faithful.

According to the statement, “we can collectively confront our challenges as a nation and build a truly peaceful and prosperous Nigeria by acknowledging the supremacy of God, demonstrating genuine love and respect for one another and commitment to peaceful living”.

He felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of the Eid- el- Kabir, urging them to continue to uphold the lessons of love, loyalty and sacrifice which were the hallmark of the festival.

The minister advised that the lessons of sacrifice and loyalty, which Eid-el-Kabir teaches should not be lost to the pomp and ceremony that accompany the festival.
