Eight days after the death of the late Governor of Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu, aides, political followers and family members converged on Owo, the hometown of the late governor, and held a special prayer session in his memory as part of the funeral rites.

The programme which was held at his residence in Owo while the family was represented by the younger sister to the late governor, Toyin Akeredolu.

At the service, which was led by Rev. Canon S.B Oladimeji, prayers were offered for the families, followers and political family of the late Akeredolu, as well as the state and Owo town.

The state government was not represented at the prayer session which was organised by the political family of the late Akeredolu, with one of the organisers saying; “this is purely private affairs”.

Some personalities at the prayer service include, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State; Engr. Ade Adetimehin; former Special Adviser to the late Governor on Special Duties and Union Matters; Mr. Dare Aragbiaye; former Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing; Engr. Raimi Aminu.
