THE Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the main kingpin, one 27-year-old Chigbo Aniegbu m” aka (Transformer) from Nimo in connection with the assassination of the President General of Nimo community in Njikoka local government area of the state, Chief Frank Anthony Igboka.
Other suspected gang members involved in the act, who are currently at large are; one Smart surname unknown m,” Chukwunoso alias (Nwasami), and Obinna Okafor m.”
Tribune Online reports that the late Igboka was gruesomely killed by his assailants on April 17, 2019 hometown while catching fun in a restaurant
Irked by the incident, the state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano directed the police to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act where he pledges a sum of five million rewards to whoever provides information about the killers.
However, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Mustapha Danduara while parading the suspect alongside other criminals in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Monday, said that investigation revealed that the murderer and his gang members were cultists cum hire killers and that the state governor after confirming the arrest, increases his early reward of 5million to 15million to anybody with useful details about the flying suspects.

He also explained that the suspects were arrested by tactical teams, including operatives from the anti-kidnapping and anti-cultism units, during a search for the killers.
Mr Dandaura, noted that under his watch, within the month of April 2019, the Command through its striking units such as SARS, Special Anti Cultism, operations Udoka and Divisional Patrol teams have equally arrested a total number of two hundred and sixty-four (264)suspects comprising of (231) Suspected cultists,(16) one chance robbery syndicate, four (4)suspected car snatchers, three (3) suspected kidnappers and ten(10) suspected armed robbers through intelligence gathering, intensive raids on Criminal hideouts and visibility patrols which is still ongoing.
And the total Exhibits recovered are as follows: two AK 47 rifles, One Beretta Pistol, Two Double Barrel guns,Two(2) Revolver Pistols,Two(2) fabricated guns , Two Toy guns, One hundred and sixty (160) ammunition of 7.62 mm, Sixteen(16)cartridges, Forty two rounds (42)of .9mm life ammunition, Two Toyota Corolla vehicles stolen at gunpoint, One Rave4 jeep stolen from Rivers State, Three L 300 Mitsubishi buses used for one chance robbery, One Lexus Car, One Toyota Carina, Eight bags and two drums of Dry leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, Three (3) Axes, One (1) Dagger and One (1) Machete.
He, therefore, assures all “Ndi Anambra” and residents alike that Anambra State will continue to remain safe and secure despite isolated cases which the Command in collaboration with other Sister agencies are working assiduously to contain.
