Police arrest man over invasion of Koka village in Osun

Osun State police command, on Wednesday, arrested a middle-aged man, Salisu Suleiman, in connection with last Sunday invasion of Koka Village of Obokun local government area of the state.

The suspect who said to hail from Idofihan in Kwara State is now being interrogated at the State Criminal Investigation Department of the command over his roles in the invasion of the village.

It will be recalled that no fewer than three villagers were reportedly shot on the day of the incident by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

The evil perpetrators who were ten in number said to have invaded the community around 11.30 P.M of the day when most people in the village were asleep.

Investigations revealed that the gunmen who first shot sporadically into the air, operated for about three hours unhindered.

Informed sources stressed that some of the armed herders stationed themselves in strategic positions while perpetuating the barbaric act explained that, some of them manned the major road leading to the village while others attacked residential abodes of some villagers.

It was gathered that the first house being invaded by the evildoers was riddled with bullets while three of the inhabitants were shot, leaving them in their pool of blood.

The shot victims said to have sustained various degrees of injuries and have been taken for treatment in a hospital in Osogbo.

It was, however, learnt that local hunters in the village and adjourning ones mobilised themselves to confront the attackers who later ran away.
