Beginning from Sunday, November 11, one of Nigeria’s brilliant minds, Pius Adesanmi, will embark on a creative journey in the Tribune every Sunday with his column, “Injury Time with Pius Adesanmi”.
Adesanmi, now a Professor of English Language and Literature and Director, Institute of African Studies at Carleton University, Canada, made First Class at the University of Ilorin. He is one of the few young Nigerians who spearheaded the rebirth of literary creativity in the country in the late 1990s and beyond with their involvement in the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA). Their postmodernism quest then was to regenerate enterprising successors to the Wole Soyinkas, Achebes, Osofisans, Obafemis, among other sterling generations of writer-scholars.
Adesanmi is passionate about Nigeria and its progress and has consistently made interventions by canvassing for good governance and a country that Nigerians will be proud of.
