It is happy times for Fuji exponent, Azeez Sulaimon Maitama, popularly known as Paso Poly as the singer has just taken the delivery of a brand new Honda Anaconda as he plans big for his first major event since he broke into the mainstream music industry, Paso 4 Poly Oganla Day.
The musician, who is known as a protégé of Fuji icon, Wasiu Alabi, otherwise known as Pasuma, said his many years of hard work in the music industry was finally paying off even as he added that there was more to come from him even after his maiden event.
As high society prepares for the event, Paso Poly, in an interview with R recalled his journey into music saying he could not have become successful in music industry without support of his fans and other influential people who God has used to make his dream come true.
Speaking on his relationship with Pasuma, elated Paso Poly said he fell in love with him because he patterned his music after his style, adding that Pasuma fell in love with his style of music the first he saw him perform on stage.
Asked why Pasuma wants to make him the Otun Oganla of Fuji music, Paso Poly stated that his style of music, which seems to be similar to that of Pasuma and his consistency, would earn him the title.
“Pasuma said he loves my style of music and my consistency over the years. We have both come a long way over the years and he’s proud of my success. So, he told me that he would make me his Otun Oganla in an elaborate celebration on April 5 in Ibadan.
The event, tagged Oganla Day will attract musicians and actors, some of who include Pasuma, Taye Currency, Alhaji Rasidi Ayinde and Yomi Fabiyi, who will be the MC of the day and supported by Wale Promo among others and will hold at the popular Perfecto hotel and club, Adegbayi Ibadan.
The event, R learnt, was put together by Pasco Promotion and Bewaji Films and Records.
