The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has extended its condolences to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and to the family of the late Chief Isaac Omodewu, the Chairman of APC in the state, who passed away on Monday.

In a statement issued by the Acting Chairman of NUJ in the state, Seye Ojo, and Secretary, Sola Oladapo, on behalf of the Council, the NUJ expressed its profound shock and sorrow at the sudden death of Chief Omodewu.

The NUJ described Omodewu’s death as a significant loss to the APC and Oyo State at large. The union recognised Chief Omodewu’s sterling leadership qualities, both as a former Commissioner for Lands and Housing and as the Chairman of APC in the state..

According to NUJ, Chief Omodewu’s life was characterised by a deep commitment to unity and the growth of the party, adding that “his invaluable contributions to the political landscape of Oyo State will be remembered for years to come.

“He was more than a political leader; he was a pillar of strength and a beacon of guidance for many in the state. His passing is especially painful, as he leaves us at a time when his experience and leadership were most needed, just as he was meant to enjoy the fruits of his labour and dedication to the party and the people of Oyo State.

“We extend our prayers for strength and comfort to his family during this challenging time and to the APC in Oyo State as they navigate this profound loss. May the soul of the departed rest in perfect peace.”

The Acting Chairman of NUJ also called for continued prayers for the repose of Chief Omodewu’s soul and for strength and support for his family and loved ones during this difficult period.

The Chairman of NUJ in the state, Alhaji Ademola Babalola is currently on a month-long vacation.
