CHIEF of Staff to the Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, Dr Gbade Ojo, is to chair the technical committee to review the just submitted visitation panel report on the crisis at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho.
Special Adviser to Governor Ajimobi on Communication and Strategy, who disclosed this to journalists on Sunday, said Ajimobi and his Osun State counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola, expect the technical committee to come up with pragmatic recommendations that will ensure the reopening and sustainability of LAUTECH.
Among other tasks for the committee is the review of whatever inadequacies that might be in the recommendations of the visitation panel report, and come up with recommendations that does not “necessarily bring financial burden on the owner-states.”
Director of Higher Education in Oyo State, Mr Kunle Adeosun, is to serve as committee secretary.
Layinka pointed out that the Chairman and Secretary were selected from Oyo State for administrative convenience in the committee’s work.
The report, which the committee is mandated to give in the next two weeks will form the fulcrum of a white paper on the sustainability of LAUTECH, in the long run.
Other members of the committee are, Oyo Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Seun Abimbola; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Oyo State, Mr David Olatunde; Former Permanent Secretary, Osun state, Mr Obafemi Akinyemi; Chairman, Oyo House Committee on Education, Honourable Afeez Adeleke; Chairman, Osun House of Assembly, Honourable Folorunso Bamisayemi; Permanent Secretary, Osun Ministry of finance, Mr Adebimpe Ogunlumade; Permanent Secretary, Osun Ministry of Education, Mr Sunday Olajide; and, Permanent Secretary, Oyo Ministry of Education, Mrs Aderonke Makanjuola.
