Cross River State governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has pledged to ensure that TINAPA Resort and other projects from previous administrations do not fade away.
Otu disclosed this during a media briefing at the Dan Archibong Lodge in Calabar.
He said that any project that involved government’s funding will be upheld by his administration for the benefit of the people.
“We will not let TINAPA go to waste. We have conducted feasibility studies on the project and have developed a plan for its revival.
“We have reached an agreement with AMCON to retake the facility and currently, TINAPA is government-owned.
“We are committed to revitalising this resort, aligning with our goal of enhancing our investments,” the governor said.
Regarding the North Cross River Festival, which aims to highlight the agricultural potential of the North senatorial district, the governor noted that “NorthFest has not been canceled; instead, we are working to develop the entire district through the airport project.
“I will not abandon any initiative started by my predecessors, especially those funded by the public.
Otu also mentioned advancements in the aviation sector, revealing that two newly acquired aircraft are expected to arrive in the state by March this year, pending regulatory approvals.
Addressing the ongoing $3.5 billion Bakassi Deep Seaport project, the governor defended it, stating that it is not an overly ambitious endeavour.
He highlighted that the project reflects the confidence that foreign investors have in the state and expressed optimism about its successful completion, which will ultimately benefit the state.
The governor reiterated his commitment to building an inclusive state where everyone can prosper, vowing to safeguard lives and property.
