
The refunds, totaling N6.314bn, was paid into the state coffers on Monday July 17, 2017.
According to a statement endorsed by director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy to Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Mr Semiu Okanlawon, “in line with our government’s promise to utilise the resources of this state in the best interest of our people, we hereby restate our commitment to this promise as we begin shortly transparent deployment on our commitments to the concerned stakeholders.”
It would be recalled that the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Lani Baderinwa, had on Monday said that the state government had not received the second tranche of the Paris loan refund, promising that the public would be adequately informed immediately the administration of Aregbesola gets the funds.
