Organised Private Sector (OPS) has expressed its readiness to train 814,000 youths nationwide in various vocations to cushion the effect of economic hardship.
The convener of the SOS Mandate for Tinubu/Shettima Grassroot Mobilisation and National Chairman/President of Education Legacy Dr Saka Ominiwe made this known in an interview in Ibadan on Sunday.
He stated that necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the success of the project.
Ominiwe added that 22,000 youths would be selected from each state of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He stated that the proposed training is one of the gains of the ongoing economic reforms of the President Tinubu-led administration.
Ominiwe said as much as people have the right to protest, they should tread with caution in order not to rubbish the efforts of the present administration.
He, therefore, appealed to the people to shelve the plan for the proposed mass protest and engage the government in a meaningful dialogue.
According to him, “With the proposed mass protest, the foreign investors will be discouraged from investing their funds in the economy of the nation.
“Foreign investors have deeper interest in the economy of the Country. Many of them have sealed pacts with the Federal government. Any plan to embark on mass protest will be counter productive”
“Also, Nigerians should hold other political leadership accountable especially those other that are allegedly corrupt”.
