The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has attributed the peace in the party to the inclusive approach and equal treatment for all by the state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, saying the governor is responsible for the peace being enjoyed in the party.
This was contained in a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, who stated that Akeredolu’s uncanny leadership style paved the way for the enviable feat that has become a reference point among states.
Kalejaye noted that “sailing through turbulent waters unruffled is only possible with a versatile and experienced captain on board. It is on this note that the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State deeply appreciates the governor and leader of the chapter, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for the rancour-free exercise on Saturday.
The statement read “The party also acknowledges the contributions and cooperation of other strategic leaders that ensured the state chapter had successful exercises from the ward, local government, to the State.
“It takes virtuoso leadership, understanding and party discipline to achieve such level of success.
“In an era of the disturbing level of indiscipline among some leaders and youths, it is gratifying to note that both strata of party members in the Sunshine State exhibited a high level of maturity, discipline, and willingness to support a transparent process that led to the emergence of credible and committed people that would pilot the affairs of the party (at the three levels) for the next four years.
“The party wishes to assure leaders and members of its renewed commitment to serving with uncommon integrity, and unusual dedication to the cohesion and development of the party. We are determined to build a chapter that is attuned to the character of the Sunshine State.
“To this end, the party craves the continued support and encouragement of all stakeholders, urging them to sustain the love and commitment to a family-like association.
“There can’t be a party without the people; members are the supporting pillars that would not be taken for granted.
“While celebrating you all for the unusual level of understanding and consistent support, it is pertinent to assure that we are determined to build a more vibrant, cohesive, inclusive, but very disciplined chapter that we all can be proud of at all times”
Meanwhile, Akeredolu congratulated the new elected executives’ members of the APC in the state and expressed delight over the outcome of the just-concluded state congress of APC in the state.
The Governor specifically commended members of the Party for what he described as an “exemplary and unique show of unity and love.” This is even as he congratulated the newly-elected State Executive Committee led by Engr Ade Adetimehin.
His words: “Saturday’s exercise was a well-proven point. Its outcome, which was the fruit of hardwork and selflessness on the part of Party members, depicts no less, an admirable signpost.
“The exemplary and unique show of unity and love, commitment and comportment as well as the enviable display of commonality are alluring virtues that have singled Ondo APC out during this exercise.
“In all these, aside from giving God the Glory, the leadership of the Party deserves a huge commendation and indeed, gratitude for the way and manner members conducted themselves. They have all shown the great men and women in them, as leaders.
“Their cooperation, understanding and uncommon networking contributed in no small measure, to the moulding of a solid foundation from the Wards and Local Government Congresses which culminated in the seamless State Congress.
“For the newly-elected State Executive Committee ably led by Engr. Adetimehin, it deserves a big congratulation. Specifically, Adetimehin’s commitment to engender unity, cohesion and deepen party values is as palpable as his passion for the development of the state.
“There is no doubt he, alongside his team, will take Ondo APC to further greater heights as they commence this task for another four years.
“In all, certain complaints as regards Constitutional infractions in respect of age as it concerns some offices are noted. Such will not be overlooked; they shall be thoroughly investigated and remedial measures will be enforced to redress same.”
