Though rape is termed a criminal offence, the rate is conveniently boosting and increasing throughout the globe which put a direct threat to females especially children in the society, there are many cases of male molestation too and this always leaves victim with trauma and sometimes depression if the necessary steps are not taken immediately.
There are many myths and excuses on why rape occurs but the truth is there is no justification for rape; it is morally wrong and a big threat to humanity and has taken many lives.
Rape is ravaging in Africa and the world at large, the rate is alarming and drastic steps must be taken to curb this. Government and community leaders should come together and prescribe a workable and realistic solution before rape will be seen as a normal thing in the society.
The government should establish a standing law with severe punishment that will pose a threat to offenders that will indulge in such act.
As long as there are human beings and communities, the need for self-defense will always be necessary. As long as someone is alive, the need to defend oneself never ceases, the community with the help of the government should train the female gender simple techniques and strategies to defend themselves in order not to become victims.
There should be a global comprehensive orientation of males on how to manage their urge for sexual satisfaction because the root of the source should be addressed which necessitate to properly informed the male gender on possible ways to go about in order to resist raping in the society, this will be accomplished with the threat of legal punishment for any offenders to know what to face thereafter.
Change is a possibility in the human world, fight against rape can be won if individuals, families, churches, mosques, government and every societal group cooperate and remain committed to seeing the end of this inhumane act in our society.
