DELTA State governor and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for equity as the only parnesia to peace and development in the state.
Okowa made the assertion on Tuesday at Ogbe Ijoh and Owian communities, in Warri-South West and Udu local government areas in continuation of the PDP’s campaign rallies across various local government areas of the state ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The rally was graced by hundreds of party members and supporters across the state, who pledged their support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s second term ambition.
State party Chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, while addressing the large crowd, introduced to the candidates vying for political positions at the state and federal levels.
He assured the people that PDP will restore justice in the system and make jobs available for Nigerian youths.
Addressing the mammoth crowd in pidgin, Governor Okowa alongside his Deputy and wife, Mr Kingsley Otuaro, and Dame Edith Okowa, thanked the electorate for their support during his first term.
“I thank you all for the support so far, we have been coming here, and you the good people of Warri-South-West, and Udu Local Government council voted massively, una vote nai make us fit work for the first tenure, and again we don come again to let una know say better things dey come, so make una vote PDP again.

“God will bless our youths, our women, and great men in this local government to continue their good work, una know say na una dey carry first for everything, and that first, we nor go let anybody come take am, una go continue so una go continue to vote for PDP, vote Atiku for President, vote PDP to restore the good, and relative peace in Delta State,” he noted.
Okowa thanked the people of Ogbe-Ijoh, and Aladja communities for giving peace a chance, saying it was the only way to foster development.
He added that the re-approval of Isaba, and Aladja road is on and that the contractors would return to the site.
The Governor further stressed that Deltans should stand for equity, peace and understanding, as it is the only way to maintain understanding among every senatorial district.
He said other senatorial districts did their eight years tenure, so Delta North should be given its share of eight years, which is the only means to ensure equity and peaceful rapport among everyone.
Other notable state party members, who graced the rally, included, James Manager, Director General Campaign Committee, Funkekeme Solomon, Thomas Ereyitomi, Emomotimi Guwor, Frank Omare, among others.
