A group of prominent indigenes of Ogun State living in the United States of America (USA) has declared its support for the senatorial ambition of Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State.
The group, in a statement signed by its leader, Olamide Davies Talabi and made available to Tribune Online on Wednesday, said the endorsement of Amosun, who seeks contest the February 16 election to represent the Ogun Central Senatorial District, was based on his impressive record as the governor of the state.

“Governor Ibikunle Amosun has made possible infrastructural development, landmark investment and partnership of the state with many companies, both in Nigeria and outside of Nigeria, through the enabling environment he created such as good security for investors.
“The main reason we are so proud of Senator Ibikunle Amosun is his openness to the Diaspora community. Many of Ogun State’s brightest brothers and sisters in the Diaspora have been invited home by the governor to contribute their ideas to the development of the state, either as part of the administration or as consultants.
“We, therefore, believe that the exposure of Senator Amosun is what is needed in Ogun Central Senatorial District, across the state and at the federal level,” the statement further read.
