Ogbomoso Valiant Club, has congratulated the new Soun of Ogbomoso, His Royal Majesty, Oba Afolabi Gandhi Olaoye, on the successful completition of seven days traditional rites of which will formally make him the paramount traditional ruler of Ogbomosoland.
In a statement signed by the President of the club, Rear Admiral Jacob Ajani (Rtd), a copy of which was made available to TribuneOnline on Friday, said:”We acknowledge that your ascension to the throne of your forebears is God-ordained as evidenced by the manner you successfully scaled through the rigorous screening process that preceded your selection and eventual approval by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State. Kabiyesi, we rejoice with Your Royal Majesty immensely sir.
“We are further persuaded that Your Royal Majesty is the perfect choice as the Soun of Ogbomoso at this time in the annals of the ancient town. This conviction stems from the realisation that you had made monumental personal accomplishments in the private business and the public sector as well as a Minister in the Redeemed Christian Church of God; where you successfully served in diverse capacities for over 3 decades.
“Based on the foregoing and in realisation of the huge responsibilities conferred on Your Royal Majesty to, among other things mobilise your subjects for the development of Ogbomoso and its people, we in OVC hereby declare our unalloyed loyalty and unflinching support accordingly.
“Your Royal Majesty can count on our Club with membership cutting across serving and retired officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Nigeria Police Force and the other statutory security agencies to heed your royal call whenever needed in areas and issues of our competence.”
