Nollywood industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of one of its veteran actors, Bruno Iwuoha, who died in the early hours of Saturday after a prolonged battle with diabetes.
The actor who has not featured in movies for over four years died at the age of 68 with many of his colleagues mourning his passage.
Popular actress and producer, Shan George described the death of Iwuoha as shocking, saying “the Nollywood industry will miss him so much and we pray for his family to have the fortitude the bear the loss.”
Information gathered by Tribune Online revealed that Iwuoha who featured prominently in more than 100 epic movies has been battling diabetes for about five years as his family members and colleagues rally him to save his life.
Director of Communications Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), who confirmed the news in a statement said “It is on a sad note that we announce the passing away of our elder colleague and active member of AGN Abuja, Bruno Obinna Iwuoha.
“He died in the early hours of this morning after a prolonged battle with diabetes.
“Bruno Iwuoha hails from Ehime Mbano Local Government Area in Umunumo Umuanunu kindred, Imo state. He was aged 68 years, survived by his wife and six children.”
The National President, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Emeka Rollas, said on behalf of the entire members of the Guild, he commiserates with the immediate family members, friends and fans.
He prayed that God would comfort them at this moment of grief and that all the souls of all faithful departed would rest in peace.
