If you’re already thinking about how to survive or cope with a toxic relationship for the rest of your life, I have this for you. Above all, you can lose it all. Certain factors make people stay in an unhealthy affair. This could be financial, primarily for their children. The fear of starting all over and for ‘love.’

  • 1. Talk to someone
  • 2. Stay away from altercation
  • 3. Be ready to be independent
  • 4. Stop thinking you’re guilty
  • 5. Have some fun

Whatever reason you chose to stay, know that a toxic partner can destroy you to the point of slim repair. If you’re stuck or confused about what to do to get out of your situation, here are tips to end your toxic relationship:

1. Talk to someone

If you’ve been keeping your relationship to yourself, it’s very good. But your situation now demands you talk to someone about it. A trusted fellow, dear to your heart. Open up about all your struggles; let the person know you want to be free so that he or she can know how to help you. If you don’t mind, you can go for therapy.

2. Stay away from altercation

As a married woman, you must limit your interaction with your partner to get things right. You might find it difficult to stop talking to him or her completely, but you still have to avoid things that can cause any altercation.

3. Be ready to be independent

Stop procrastinating; decide on how you want to forge ahead. Consider your income; do you need more training, or should you apply for a new job or loan for your business? Plan for things that can help you become more of yourself and stabilise you.

4. Stop thinking you’re guilty

Be happy that you’re striving to better your life. Don’t dwell too much on the past. Stop thinking you caused everything; forgive yourself. Guilt will only make you depressed; what you need now is self-love. End a toxic life and welcome a new dawn.

5. Have some fun

What makes you happy? Whatever it is, just go for it. Let go of the worries; see positivity in life. Enjoy every moment; laugh, smile, crack jokes, and feel free to interact with anyone. If you don’t fight for your happiness, every situation will seem toxic to you.
