The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has sensitised Bauchi residents on effective and responsible communication.

The state chairman of the NIPR, Alhaji Rabiu Wada, stated this during a road walk organised by the institute on Saturday in Bauchi.

Wada, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said that the road walk was designed to create awareness on the forthcoming 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), billed to hold in Abuja between November 15 and November 21.

He noted that such awareness creation exercises would mobilise participation in the forum.

“It is aimed at sensitising members of the public on the importance of responsible communication and the opportunities presented by the forum,” he said.

Wada said that about 50 members of the institute participated in the road walk, which started from the palace of the Emir Bauchi and terminated at the Government House, Bauchi.

He urged members of the institute and other stakeholders to support the initiative and participate actively in the forum.

Wada said the forum will feature a week-long programme bringing together practitioners and other stakeholders to discuss global communication, public relations, reputation management, culture, among others.
