He warned that Nigerians should be wary of those who would want to bribe their ways into the office come 2019, adding only people with the fear of God should be voted into power in the next general elections.
He noted that the nation’s economy is in shambles noting that a nation with a shaky economy is doomed while also urging Nigerians to pray for the salvation of the country.
He lamented that nations of great resources were doing very great while Nigeria with everything has continued to crawl because of poor management of the nation’s resources by successive administrations.
“Do you know that we import fuel to drive our cars in the country when Nigeria is the 6th largest oil producing country in the World. Why is our refineries not working, so we need prayers in economy.
“We need prayers in politics. Our politics is very crude, it is politics of money. Politics that lacks ideology, so we need prayers to get the political system right.
On 2019 general elections, the Cleric said Nigerians should be united in ensuring that only leaders who are patriotic and have the interest of the nation at heart were elected to various offices.
He said there was the need for Nigerians to elect the next President with compassion and nuances to manage the nation’s economy as well as the diversity, which is supposed to be the strength of Nigeria.
He called on Churches to convert their available spaces to schools, saying education remains key to effective socio-economic development of the country.
Today I was in my room just reviewing this county’s problem and how come our economy has plunged abysmally. how all the revered institution of the world are rating us lowly. these days, there’s no rating or ranking that has been positive about Nigeria. from the HSBC to THE ECONOMIST. to the World Bank to TI (Transparency international). just name it. every rating and ranking have been very very damning and has prophesied doom in the coming years, if we should continue in this trajectory. and in my lay man knowledge, I said to myself. that, aside the very ill-informed policy of PMB that plunged us into recession and has destroyed our economy, the myopic hunger of building up a big foreign reserve is also killing the naira and by extension our economy. Mr President is so fixated on building a huge foreign reserve to the detriment of our exchange rate. what is the sense of having several billions of dollars, when your own local currency is suffering from inconsistent exchange rate. the naira must be stabilised before the craze about building a huge reserve. little did I know that, the CBN governor held exactly the same view. in fact in a speech delivered yesterday, he made exactly the same argument. that, we must stabilise our naira before trying to build a massive reserve. Mr President stop killing our economy. you are running people out of business.
