American rapper and songwriter, Onika Tanya Marag-Petty, popularly known as Nicki Minaj, has received US President Donald Trump’s $1 million gold card, offering her residency and a pathway to U.S. citizenship.
Minaj shared the card on X following her appearance at an event promoting President Trump’s government-supported investment accounts for babies.
The card featured Trump’s face and was posted alongside the caption, “Welp.”
In a follow-up post, she wrote: “Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President.” She later added, “Gold Trump card free of charge.”
During January. 28 event, Minaj described herself as “probably the president’s No. 1 fan” and said “the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all.”

Minaj has previously spoken about her immigration history. In a 2018 Facebook post, she said, “I came to this country as an illegal immigrant @ 5 years old.” However, in a now-deleted comment on the thread where she revealed the card, she clarified, “Residency? This isn’t for Residency. I’ve had that for decades.”
According to Billboard, Nicki Minaj was born in Trinidad.
The Trump gold card is described on a government page as a visa requiring a $150,000 “DHS processing fee” and a “$1 million gift.”
USA TODAY said it has contacted representatives for Minaj to confirm whether the card was received as a gift and to clarify her current legal status.
