Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Kwairanga, Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group), has lauded Ms. Arunma Oteh, one of Africa’s leading financial professionals, for her thought leadership and extensive contributions to the field of capital markets through her new book, All Hands on Deck: Unleashing Prosperity Through World Class Capital Markets. Speaking at the book launch at Oxford University, United Kingdom, Alhaji Kwairanga commended Ms. Oteh for sharing her wealth of knowledge to inspire future generations and shape policy innovation

In his remarks, Alhaji Kwairanga emphasized the critical importance of documenting and sharing professional expertise. “I strongly believe that our best leaders and professionals should share their insights and experiences both as a guide to our younger ones and for the sake of posterity,” he stated.

Highlighting Ms. Oteh’s distinguished career, which spans over four decades of leadership roles at the African Development Bank, Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria, World Bank, and her current position at Oxford University, Alhaji Kwairanga described her as one of Nigeria and Africa’s most accomplished professionals. He noted that All Hands on Deck provides invaluable strategic guidance for policymakers, industry practitioners, and the general public on harnessing the potential of capital markets to drive equitable wealth creation.

Reflecting on the book’s themes, Alhaji Kwairanga discussed the transformative impact of capital markets in fostering sustainable economic growth. Drawing lessons from the success of countries like China and India, he reaffirmed NGX Group’s commitment to enhancing financial inclusion and democratizing access to investment through initiatives such as NGX Invest. Additionally, he highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s financial ecosystem through financial literacy programs, capacity development for market operators, and robust collaboration with regulatory bodies.

“Professionals of Ms. Oteh’s caliber provide invaluable insights into optimizing world-class capital market strategies,” Alhaji Kwairanga stated. “Her publication represents a significant intellectual contribution to our collective understanding of global economic development.”

The launch of All Hands on Deck marks a pivotal milestone in contemporary discussions on the role of capital markets in advancing economic prosperity, financial inclusion, and sustainable development.
