The News Digest, a fast-rising online newspaper, has assured Nigerians of its commitment to the continuous delivery of quality journalism.
The Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Gidado Shuaib, gave the assurance in a statement on Sunday, while announcing the presence of the newspaper on Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia.
According to Mr Shuaib, the news medium will continue to serve as a watchdog of society.
He added that the newspaper, established in 2018, will continue to stand on the ethics of journalism in its reportage.
Mr Shuaib also decried that journalists in the country have been subjected to oppression and ridicule, in the cause of doing their job, stating that the call for press freedom must not be put aside.
He, however, tasked journalists in the country, not to be deterred by oppressors, but to be passionate in doing their job, adding that they must see the career as a call to serve society and not for personal gains.
