Party leaders in attendance at the Congress, according to a statement made available by the party through its state publicity secretary, Mr Taofik Gani, include Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Senator Kofo Bucknor-Akerele, Capt Tunji Shelle, Mr Jimi Agbaje, Otunba Segun Adewale aka Aeroland, all the five members of the House of Representatives and the only PDP member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The party said the exercise, which took place at Jibowu area of the state, followed the meeting the state Congress committee led by Hon Duben Onyia had “with selected leaders of the various interests in the state where the offices were allotted into areas and filled with persons commonly agreed to.”
According to the release, those other officers, who were returned unopposed alongside Salvador and Gani, include Alhaji Hassan Waliu (deputy chairman), Prince Muiz Dosunmu (secretary), Hon. Kunle Okunola (organising secretary), Niyi Adams (Youth Leader), Mrs Shola Oladehinbo (woman leader).
All the officers shall be responsible for the day to day running of the party at the state level whilst also carrying out oversight roles in the local government and Ward areas of the state.
It would be recalled that the Chairman of the State Caretaker Committee, Senator Osholake, slumped and died during the ward congresses exercise thus causing the postponement of the LGA and State congresses of the party.
