The leader of Ezendigbo in Oyo state, Dr Alex Anoxie, has commended the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, for his love for justice, rule of law and humility.
This was stated by the leader of the group during a courtesy visit of Ezendigbo to Alaafin of Oyo ‘s Palace on Friday 24th January.
According to the group, the visit is aimed at sympathising with Igbos and other Nigerians affected by the fire incident at Akesan market.
Anoxie, in his address expressed appreciation of Ndigbo towards the hospitality of the Yorubas over Igbos and every other Nigerians residing in Yoruba land.
“It is on record that before independence in Nigeria and after, Igbos and all Nigerians residents in Yoruba land never had any cause to worry about the safety of their life and property in Yoruba land. Even during the Civil war, Igbos’ life and property were not exposed to danger, like it was in some other parts of the country “, he said.

Anoxie with his team met with the affected victims, sympathized and prayed for the affected victims.
Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, in his response described the Igbos as peace lovers and hardworking people who have contributed tremendously to the development of every part of Nigeria.
Anoxie, however, advised various state governments in Nigeria to put in place two functional and sustainable borehole waters in every Industrial and market area in each local government.
He further explained that this will help fire brigades avoid complain of lack of water in case of fire outbreak.
