Nasarawa poly to award degrees to Nigerians

THE Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa has disclosed that it is ready to award degree to Nigerians in the next academic session.

The Rector of the institution, Professor Shettima Abdulkadir Saidu who stated this on Saturday during the 2016/2017 matriculation ceremony of the polytechnic said the school has already gotten approval to commence the programme.

He explained that the polytechnic has signed a memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Federal University of Technology, Minna as a way of affiliating with the university to award degree.

Speaking on the number of students matriculated, the Rector said 3110 students comprising of 1816 for National Diploma (ND) and 1294 for Higher National Diploma (HND) were matriculated.

Professor Saidu, urged the students to quickly get acquainted with the rules and regulations of the institution contained in the students handbook to guide their stay as members of the institution.

He added that the management of the institution will continue to do its best to improve in the provision of both academic and infrastructural development so as to ensure that the high standard of education in the institution is maintained.

Professor Saidu who appealed to the new students to be good ambassadors of the institution also intimated them that management had reinvigorated the Alumni office and was making frantic effort to involve the alumni in the development of their Alma Mata.
