The Special Adviser to the state governor on ICT, Hamza Elayo, who disclosed this while speaking to Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday, in Lafia, the state capital, said lack of e-resources had hampered the full takeoff of the e-library since 2013.
He said the e-library has 100 workstations and a 200 seaters capacity in Lafia, 100 in Akwanga, 200 in Keffi, 100 in Nasarawa and 100 in Karu which will cater for all classes of readers.
He said the state government has already purchased a broadband to provide internet connection for a period of one year for the 5 libraries in the state.
“There are two categories of readers; there is the in-house reader registration whereby you come and read in the library. Such a person would be registered and given a card. The second category of members will be patrons who will register with N1000 annually. This affords them the opportunity to access resources of the library at the comfort of their homes,” he said.
The Special Adviser urged the people of the state to take advantage of the e-library and update their knowledge on critical issues adding that, the e-library would takeoff as soon as security features have been fixed.
