The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Friday announced fares ranging from N7,560,822 to N7,882,822.00 as approved by the Federal Government to be paid by Nigerian intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The fares, according to the commission, were based on the respective departure points across the country.
NAHCON management informed, through a public notice, that the fares were in line with the principle of transparency, cost-efficiency and government’s commitment to Nigerian pilgrims’ welfare.
According to the notice, intending pilgrims from Maiduguri/Yola zone would pay the sum of N7,560,822, while those from other Northern states would pay N7,672,822.
The sum of N7,882,822 was approved for payment by intending pilgrims from the Southern zone.
The amount fixed for next year’s Hajj exercise is slightly higher, by about N100,000, compared to the fares paid for the 2026 Hajj by Nigerians who participated in the annual spiritual exercise.
For the 2026 exercise, pilgrims from the Maiduguri/Yola zone, comprising Adamawa, Borno, Yobe and Taraba states, paid the sum of N7,579,20.96, while those from other Northern states and Southern states paid N7,696,769.76 and N7,991,41.76 respectively.
According to NAHCON, the approved fares for the 2027 Hajj were determined following consultations with the leadership of the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, key service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as careful consideration of prevailing exchange rates and service costs.
“In line with the principle of transparency, cost-efficiency, and the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) announces the 2027 Hajj fares approved by the Federal Government.
“The approved fares were determined following consultations with the leadership of the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, key service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and careful consideration of prevailing exchange rates and service costs.
“The approved 2027 Hajj fares, based on the respective departure zones, are as follows: Maiduguri / Yola Zone N7,560,822.00; Northern Zone N7,672,822.00 and Southern Zone N7,882,822.00,” the commission stated.
It urged intending pilgrims who had made an initial deposit of N5million to pay the balance with a view to completing their registration, adding that those yet to make any payments but who wished to perform the 2027 Hajj should pay the approved fares through their state Muslim pilgrims welfare boards.
“Intending pilgrims who hitherto deposited 85,000,000.00 are required to pay the outstanding balance to complete their registration while new registrants are advised to proceed with payment through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, or Commissions or through any approved Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS) participating bank,” the commission directed.

Meanwhile, NAHCON insisted that in strict compliance with Saudi Arabian authorities’ Hajj policy, September 26 remains the deadline for the complete upload of intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk-Masar digital platform.
While warning that no extension will be granted beyond the deadline, the commission further stated that remittance of all 2027 Hajj fares by states must be completed by 2nd December 2026.
According to NAHCON, “In strict compliance with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s policy, NAHCON has fixed September 26, 2026, as the final and absolute deadline for the complete upload of intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk-Masar digital platform, while remittance of all 2027 Hajj fares by states must be completed by 2nd December 2026.
“No extension will be granted beyond this deadline, as data synchronization and seat allocations depend entirely on timely remittances.
“The Commission wishes to emphasize that failure to meet the set deadlines will result in forfeiture of the allocated Hajj slots.”
