I played a game of soccer with my friends about two weeks ago. Even though I did not experience any serious physical contact during the game, I noticed that my left ankle was swollen after the game. I don’t have any pain but the swelling has remained despite all forms of treatment. Kindly advise.
Even though you did not have any physical contact during your soccer game and you are not experiencing any pain in your affected ankle, it will still be a good idea for you to have an Xray of the affected ankle. This will rule out the possibilities of a crack in your bone or what is called ‘stress fracture’ since both affectations could lead to a swelling of your ankle. Appropriate treatment will then depend on the outcome of the X ray examinations.
