THE Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State on Community Relations, Evangelist Adekemi Opatunde, on Wednesday stated that the roadshow and distribution of food items embarked upon by the wife of the state governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, is to appreciate the people of the state for what they did in the past and not any antic to induce votes.
Opatunde who stated this during the one week -run road show organised by Mrs Ajimobi stated that the food and others items given to the people is not vote buying but just to remind the people what the All Progressives Congress (APC) has done and intends to do in the next four years
“The road show is not a vote buying antic; we are trying to appreciate the good people of the state for their support in the last eight years and also tell them our intention the next four years,” she said

She emphasised that the ambition of Senator Abiola Ajimobi to go to the Senate after eight years in office as governor is beneficial to the state because he has the experience and he’s going there not because of money but the interest of the people he wants to represent.
“Essentially, the interest and demands of the people across that constituency should be expressed, most importantly they should pass laws that deal with or reflect the will of the people and national interest.
” Going into history, America has a handful of congressmen who have served severally and for long periods, for example, John Dingell Jr of Michigan, served for 59 years and there are many of them like that,” she said.
