It was in March 2013 that Nigeria’s ace comic act, Abovi Ugboma, popularly known as Bovi, launched a solo comedy show he christened, Man on Fire.
Produced consistently by Flytime Promotions for the fourth time, the one-man stand-up comedy show differs from the usual comedy shows with a potpourri of comic acts, musical performances and dance.
The first edition of Man on Fire sees Bovi spinning yarns and rendering invectives to a hall full of people for over two hours.
The show, which was a colossal success, not only exhibited the craft and talent of Delta born comedian, showcasing his unique style of observational comedy and power to weave relatable stories and current affairs into satire, but also helped to promote a second edition held in October of 2014, and a third in May of 2017.
Beyond Nigeria, the comedian took the spirit of good cheer to other cities like Toronto, London, and New York, where his jokes were met with the same level of delight and enthusiasm.
After 6 years, Bovi is ready to put on the biggest edition of the Man on Fire special, for what we anticipate will be the biggest greatest finale of the decade. He is pulling out all the stops and promises this finale will be a show like none before.
According to a statement made available to Saturday Tribune, the fourth will also be his final edition of the Man on Fire franchise and will take place on the 28th of April, 2019, at Eko Hotels and Suites.
