Tagged, ‘Live Your Dream Tour’, the executive director of the organisation, Prince Ayo decried the situation where parents impose their wish of acquisition of education on their children or wards over natural talent.
He explained that the development has not only destroyed the future of the affected youths but has hampered the progress of the society.
As such, the organisation has earmarked visit to about 40 schools in the country in its pilot programme to enlighten youths on the relevance of education in pursuance of their goals.
Ayo said, ‘we are setting off the Live Your Dream tour to take a message and opportunities to schools and institutions across Nigeria’.
“The cultural mindset towards education tends to overemphasise the acquisition of certificates over the development of natural talents which may be more needful to the society”.
“The Live Your Dream Tour’ is aimed at inspiring teenagers and young adults across Nigeria, through music, fun games and speech, to bring their individual aspirations of life while pursuing academic goals,” he said.
Mad Dragons, which made its debut in Makurdi about two years ago, has successfully united a 17-year-old artiste who had abandoned her parents and education.
Sharing her past with our correspondent, Miss Abigael Kanit said, “I did not know the importance of education as a tool to my aspiration, I abandoned school when I was in SSS 11 at Royal Ambassador Secondary School, Makurdi.
“Also, I did not see eye to eye with my parents, particularly, my mother who frowned at my dream of becoming a musician but rather insisted I should pursue my education.
“But with the coming of this organisation which discovered my talent however told me the need for the actualisation of my dream at the same time pursue my academic”.
“As a result of this I have returned to school and re united with my parents,” she concluded.
