The Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) in the Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Mallam Mohammadu Adamu, was assassinated by gunmen in the area on Wednesday.
The State Chairman of MACBAN, Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, who confirmed the tragic incident, stated that shortly after the deceased broke his fast with friends and family, the gunmen forced their way into his house at about 8:00 p.m. and opened fire on him at close range.
“Immediately after they shot him, the gunmen fled while neighbors rushed to the scene to save his life. He was pronounced dead at the Barkin-Ladi General Hospital after villagers swiftly arranged his transportation there,” he said.
He, therefore, called on security agencies in the state to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident to bring the perpetrators to justice and serve as a deterrent to others who might attempt such a heinous act.
