He said “I am aware of a series of reactions that trail my emergence as the party’s senatorial flag bearer, this is understandable in any political contest of this nature.
“Wishing a fellow human being and party man dead for the sake of occupying a political office is a desperation taken too far.
“Some of these reactions which came as a direct attack on my person, defaming my character in newspaper publication and social media are not necessary.
The Senator who promised to provide quality representation if given the opportunity to represent the area at the National Assembly appealed to the people of the district “to be patient and let us accept the decision of the party in good faith.”
He commended the leadership of the party in the state and governor Rotimi Akeredolu for building and repositioning the party for victory at the general election.
“We must know one thing that, this is not the time for blame trading, name-calling and mudslinging, but a moment of focus, rejuvenation and re-strategising for the task ahead, the task of winning the 2019 general elections for our party, the APC to continue to make Nigeria better and greater.
“But this cannot be achieved without peace, unity and sense of purpose within the rank and file of the APC family in the state and the country.
“I plead with all stakeholders to come together to build APC for a virile party and greater country, as any breach of the peace and harmony within the ruling party in the State, would be counter-productive.
“This is not the time for personal aggrandisement or agenda, but the time to think collectively for the sake of APC and Nigeria,” Omogunwa said.
