It is really discouraging how awards and rewards accrue to people based on personal achievements rather than legacy. National honours and rewards should be given to people in the military; missionaries, philanthropists and sports men and women. Nelson Mandela is the world’s most recognised black man.
A national honour should be given based on genuine accomplishments in national service and sacrifice and also sincere service to humanity.
