STAKEHOLDERS in Kwara state, made up of association of youths, women, artisans, market men and women, including 16 local government chairmen in the state, have asked Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to lead them all out of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking separately at a stakeholders meeting with the governor in Ilorin on Thursday, a large number of the people, made up of leaders and members of the associations, asked the governor to take them to a better place where their aspiration would be met.
One of the youth leaders at the meeting, Ali Baba, said that they belong to the Saraki political structure and not to any idealism or ideology of any political party in the state, adding that they were ready to move to another party they would lead them to.
“Please, take us to where our welfare will be guaranteed and our expectations will be met,” he said.
Also speaking, the leader of the market women in the state, Ramat Oganija, said that the people were tired of the ruling APC government at the federal level.

“We expressed joy and happiness when our leader, Dr. Bukola Saraki, led us into the APC, not knowing that they are featherweight and unreliable.
We are not afraid to leave APC for any other party because we are actually that space which accommodates others. We are eagerly waiting for you to show us our next destination. Whenever Saraki leaves APC, APC is depleted.
In his response, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed said that he, on behalf of the government, would respond soon to the request of the people.
“As stakeholders, you have come to tell us here today that you don’t want us to remain in APC. You have told us that they have not met your aspirations as a people in APC. You have come to tell us that you want us to move on to a new platform that will give us room to meet our aspirations for the good of Kwarans.
“By the grace of God Almighty, you will get a response very soon and it will be very clear. But one thing is as clear as crystal you the stakeholders have told us to move out of APC and because we run an inclusive process, that is why we have come to sit here and seek your opinion which you have expressed. And certainly, your decision is our decision. So whatever you want is what we will do. God will guide us aright. Amen,” he said.
