‘Late Night’ beginning of an amazing journey — Bobphame

Fast-rising Afro-pop artiste, Bobola Okikioluwa, popularly known as Bobphame has described the release of his new single as the “beginning of an amazing journey in the music industry.”

The singer revealed this in an interview with Tribune Online, stating that “I believe my latest single, ‘Late Night’ is the beginning of great things for me in the industry. My sound is a breath of fresh air.

“My music and sound are new, the type that relaxes your mind and soul, and relatable experiences that you would definitely love. As my first hit single, ‘Late Night’ is out on all music platforms. Trust me when I tell you that you would love it.”

The Ondo-born artiste also revealed that he is working on the release of his first EP, saying, “‘New Dawn’ will be dropping soon, don’t miss out on being the first to catch a star.”

Speaking on his inspiration, Bobphame said “Nigeria in itself is an inspiration, I draw my inspiration from my environment, my surroundings and my person. The Nigerian day-one music industry is also an inspiration, and shout out to them for holding up the platform and the music (afrobeat).

“And also my role models help too. Personally, my parents are my role model, they are the best minds have encountered in my day-to-day existence and life. In the music industry, I would like to say the day one Afro pop artistes are my role model, the likes of Olamide, Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage and Donjazzy. They have done so well and added to the industry, I respect their individual and collective values and integrity.

“I grew up in one of the most modest and humble families in Nigeria. They have always been my rock, though things might not have been all easy but with the firm Christian background I had, I tend to always get back on my feet when I fall with the help of God and my Family. I grew up surrounded by people who truly and actually love me, which has impacted my life to always show maximum love to anyone and everyone, everywhere I go.

Furthermore, Bob as he is also known, said “I’m a Law graduate (LLB), awaiting Law school. So it has not been an easy journey shuffling Law as a profession and music, but it takes great determination and consistency to keep up. Yes, there have been challenges, but we rise above them. Also, finances and having parents who don’t really believe music is the way, and education itself is taking a lot of time to focus on what to be (music).

“My experiences also helped shape me. I discovered very early my talent from freestyles with my brothers. Discovering my musical talent is the best thing that’s happened to me, I have been searching for it but at some point I couldn’t get it, because I was lost in the struggles of life, trying to keep my head up, but eventually, with God, I found what’s in me (music), and I’m ready to share with the world step by step.
