Landlord arrested for killing tenant’s four-year-old son

A landlord, Sunday Omosule, has been arrested for allegedly killing a four-year-old son of his tenant, Joseph Akpan, attributing his action to spiritual attack.

The ugly incident according to a statement made available to the Tribune Online on Monday, by the Ogun State Command Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, happened at No 23, Adeoye Street, Oko Baale Onipanu area of the State.

Omosule was arrested following a distress call made to the Onipanu Divisional Police Headquarters that he (Omosule)had gone berserk by using the pestle to chase his tenants.

Oyeyemi in the statement said the mother of the victim was equally hit with the pestle before the landlord used the same object to hit the boy to death.

When interrogated, the landlord said he always behaved erratically most times, claiming his action was nothing but a spiritual attack.

The PPRO, a Deputy Superintendent Of Police said, “On receiving the information, the DPO Onipanu Division Sp Sangobiyi Johnson led his men to the scene where the suspect was arrested.

“On interrogation, the suspect claimed to be under spiritual attacks which always make him behave erratically sometimes.

” The mother of the deceased who also sustained injury has been taken to the hospital where she is responding to treatment, while the corpse of the victim has been deposited at the State hospital mortuary for autopsy.”

The suspect according to Oyeyemi would be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation on the order of the Commissioner of Police Cp Ahmed Iliyasu.
