LAGOS State Task Force on Environmental Sanitation (Task Force) on Thursday said it has arrested four notorious land grabbers and recovered from them two locally made guns with other dangerous weapons.
The Task Force said in a statement issues by its spokesperson, Mr Taofiq Adebayo, pointing out that the arrest wad sequel to a petition submitted to the Lagos State Committee on Land Grabbers by the people of Oko-Olomi Golf Course area of Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
They include Ben Micheal (31yrs) from Owo Town in Ondo State, Segun Muda (58yrs) from Epe area of Lagos State, Segun Sunday (16yrs) from Togo and Toheeb Oladele (20yrs) from Oje town in Oyo State.
According to Adebayo, the petition, which was subsequently copied to Lagos State Police Command, was directed to the Chairman of the task Force, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi for action to be taken on it.
He said Egbeyemi, who led the operatives of the Agency, raided Oko-Olomi Golf Course area, arrested the four notorious land grabbers and recovered from them two locally made guns.
Adebayo said the arrested land grabbers had all been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba on the order of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni.
While urging members of the public to report any activities of land grabbers to the Lagos State Committee on Land grabbers, the Lagos State Task Force has, however, reiterated that the war on activities land grabbers was still ongoing across the state.
While Segun Muda, the group leader refused to say anything than to plead with the government, others claimed there were many others in the same business.
